Ölçüm birimleriyle yapılan sıfat tamlamalarında
rakamsal bir ifade ve tekil isimleri kullanılır.
Rakamlar ve niteledikleri isimler arasında her
zaman bir tire ( - ) kullanılır.
HACİM : A three- liter bottle
UZUNLUK: A fifty - meter building.
FİYAT: A ten- dollar shirt
ALAN: A thirty- acre campus
SÜRE: A nine – hour journey
AĞIRLIK: A five – kilo bag
ZAMAN / MESAFE :A five – minute walk
PARTICIPLE ADJECTIVES :BORING vs. BORED,
INTERESTING vs INTERESTED ...
a) The event interests all the people.
- it is an interesting event.
- They are interested people.
b) The lesson bored the students.
- It was a boring lesson
- They were bored students
Verb –ing ve the V3 ingiglzcede birer sıfat olarak
kullanılabilirler. Aralarında sadece active –
passive ayırımı ve bunun verdiği anlam farkı
mevcuttur.
Verb- ing active ( etken) anlam verir. Örnek (a)da
: ilgiyi çeken Event’dir..
V3 ( Past Participle) passive bir anlam verir (a)
: people are interested by the event
